From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce&Gabbana

Milan, Italy

Orsoni Venezia 1888 is proud to present the room created for the exhibition “From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce&Gabbana” in mosaics in gold leaf in three different shades and colored Venetian smalti, inspired by the decorations of the Duomo di Monreale. The artistic mosaic portrait offered by the Milan Cathedral is a free interpretation of the figure of Constantine and made in the Byzantine technique.

“From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce&Gabbana” is a unique exhibition project, a tribute to the value of craftsmanship, the essence of Dolce&Gabbana since its origins. A narrative that, through the dream of Haute Couture, explores the sources of inspiration that have shaped the minds and hands of the two founders of the fashion house: from a passion for Italian culture to love for artisan tradition revisited in a contemporary key. “From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce&Gabbana” will also present the work of visual artists in dialogue with the creativity of Dolce&Gabbana.

The exhibition journey unfolds in a succession of themes that highlight the multitude of cultural references that have inspired the work of the two designers: among these, craftsmanship, visual arts and architecture, Italy and its traditions, innovation, theater, music, Opera, Ballet, and the sweet life.

The exhibition ‘From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce&Gabbana’ pays homage to the passion of those who create beauty with the intelligence of their hands. It invites you to discover the creative universe of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana through their collections of Haute Couture, Haute Tailoring, and High Jewelry.

Their creations are presented in Italy’s most iconic locations, which spectacularly reflect the sources of inspiration for the fashion shows. Under their guidance, artist-craftsmen like Orsoni Venezia 1888 have surpassed themselves in the exercise of their craft, inventing from ancient know-how the innovations of tomorrow in a series of sets that interact with the garments and accompany visitors on a journey through time between beloved places and high craftsmanship, always the inspiration of the fashion house Dolce&Gabbana.

The exhibition is a declaration of love for artisan craftsmanship, for the skilled hands that every day create beauty by continuing ancient arts and crafts. It’s a daily labor of gestures that repeat and refine until reaching the highest levels. Dolce&Gabbana embodies the “Made in Italy” mentality, just as the master artisans who created the wonderful sets of this grand exhibition do.
